Our Work
We are a hardy lot, those of us who live in the Lowcountry. We march through pluff mud and paddle through sawgrass, exploring the mysteries of our coastal landscape. We stand elbow-to-elbow in frosty darkness, wearing baseball caps and Skin-So-Soft, shucking the best-tasting oysters on earth. We salute our flag. We fight for freedom. We farm and we fish. We run high-tech companies. We raise our children.
We are a Lowcountry community. We are a Lowcountry family.
We at United Way of the Lowcountry are grateful for the special relationships that provide the strong foundation for all that we do in Beaufort and Jasper counties. Thirty-nine partner agencies and services; five hundred volunteers; board members, committees, staff; campaign teams; business, employee and resident contributors; Together For Beaufort County; town and county governments; Beaufort County School District, Beaufort County Alliance for Health and Human Services, community foundations and legions of collaborative partners bring unique energy to our community.
What a terrific and United front we present when faced with difficulties! We are proud to have work diligently with thousands of good people, pursuing with tenacity our vision of safe shelter, good nutrition, financial stability, educational opportunities and health services for everyone.
We couldn’t do it without you.
As you learn more about United Way of the Lowcountry we hope you will see a reflection of your values, of the people and places you hold most dear. We hope you see how important our work together is, and how greatly we impact the lives of people we call friends, neighbors, family.
Thank you for your help. Thank you, deeply and sincerely, on behalf of everyone who benefits from your efforts and your generosity.
