We don’t just fund programs—we do the work, side by side with our community.

At United Way of the Lowcountry, we are hands-on. While many United Ways give money to other organizations, we take a different approach.

We show up, we listen, and and we help. We work directly with people in our community to make sure they can meet their basic needs and move toward a stable, independent future.

When people have what they need, everything changes: Families are stronger, children do better in school, workers stay employed, and communities grow.

This is how we create lasting impact, for today and the future.

Help for Today; a Plan for Tomorrow

When someone is struggling, they don’t need a long process, they need help now. We connect families to food, housing support, utility assistance, and other essentials. But we don’t stop there. We help people make a plan.

Because real change doesn’t come from a one-time fix, it comes from having the tools and support to move forward.

More Than a Handout, We Provide a Hand Up!

Our goal is simple: help people become self-sufficient. That means helping someone keep their home, not just find a temporary place to stay; connecting people to jobs, not just short-term relief; removing barriers so families can move forward with confidence.

Built for Our Community

We live here. We work here. And we know the challenges our neighbors face. That’s why we design programs that meet people where they are—especially in rural areas where help can be hard to find.

We move quickly, work together with local partners, and focus on solutions that last.
